Autumn Colours, Plockton by Jonathan Wheeler
Plockton is a picturesque settlement on the shores on Loch Carron. It faces east, away from the prevailing winds, which together with the warm Atlantic jet stream, gives the location a mild enough climate that palm trees are able to grow on the shore. Most of the houses in the village were built in the 18th and 19th century.
The village is a popular tourist destination, due partially to the poularity of Hamish Macbeth, the BBC drama starring Robert Carlyle. The TV series was filmed in and around Plockton, with the village substituting for the fictional setting of Lochdubh.
All of Jonathan's prints are printed on acid free paper, using pigmented inks that meet archival lightfast standards in terms of UV exposure. They come mounted on acid free white core board. All prints are signed by the artist.
