Culloden Battlefield by Jonathan Wheeler

The Battle of Culloden was the final confrontation of the 1745 Jacobite Rising, and was the last pitched battle fought on British soil. The Jacobites and their supporters were seeking to restore Bonnie Prince Charlie and a Stuart monarchy to the British throne. The Jacobites gathered to fight the Duke of Cumberland's government troops, and in less than one hour, around 1,500 men were slain — more than 1,200 of them from the Jacobite forces. Culloden is a powerful yet sombre place, with almost an eerie feeling pervading the battlefield to this day.

All of Jonathan's prints are printed on acid free paper, using pigmented inks that meet archival lightfast standards in terms of UV exposure. They come mounted on acid free white core board. All prints are signed by the artist.
